Doctor's Appointment

Saturday, December 27, 2008
Well Tara had a doctor's appointment just before Christmas and the doctor says everything is doing just great. He still says the baby will come in January and I guess he is right seeing as how it is almost already. The baby's weight is estimated to be 7.5 lbs at birth maybe a bit bigger, but he doesn't think it will get over 8 lbs. Which means Tara should have a vaginal birth and not a c-section. Keep praying on that one for us everyone. The hosptial bag is already packed and ready to go. I should throw together a few things for myself as well since I will be staying the night with Tara when she goes.

Waiting is torture!

Friday, December 19, 2008
We are still waiting for the baby to come. It seems like it is taking forever to come and I'm still certain the baby will come before the doctors say it will. Watch be me wrong though and I probably will be. I guess I'm just getting anxiously to meet the little one. I have waited my whole life for this. I couldn't be anymore excited. I thought I might never have kids at one point and I'm so glad to see this dream becoming a reality. I will post more when we know more.

The anxious father

Hospital Tour

Saturday, December 13, 2008
Tara and I recently had a tour of the Orillia Hospital. Well, Tara actually saw it once before, but they showed us where everything was. It is much nicer than the Huntsville one in so many ways.

1) They have no problem with me staying the hospital with Tara if I choose, which I will do for a least the first night and possibly the second work permitting.

2) They have a special shower room, which Tara can use at anytime. She doesn't even have to ask which makes it so convenient. She just has to check to see if it in use (sign by the door) and obviously remember to change the sign to in use when she uses it.

3) The family lounge which Huntsville Hospital does not have is very nice and even has a tv and vcr that you can watch tapes on.

Those are three big things we both liked. There was bit of a downside finding out that kids under 12 can not visit you in the hospital. Not that we knew a lot of people with kids, just it might limit or prevent some people from visiting. I hope not anyway. My hope is that they will still come visit us if they were plan to originally anyway. That is one downside to having the baby in Orillia is that not a lot of people will visit us. I really hope some people do try to visit though as it is still important to us even if we aren't here in Huntsville.

The father (me) and come and go as I please. I just have to wear an id bracelet and badge so they know who I am. They said we can bring whatever blankets, pillow, or pjs of our own to make it more comfortable for us. So I'm totally bringing some just to make it more comfortable.
